here’s the dl about your family session

So my approach is this :: you can’t do it wrong. No matter what, you’re doing it right.
What is important is this :: connection – touching or looking at one another constantly, laughter, real actual honest-to-God emotion. This is why I like to shoot you doing things you love to do with people you love to do it with. Because you’ll see the REAL you in your pictures, and in 40 years when you show them to your grandkids, that’s what’s going to matter most.
But tangibly, I will bring my camera to our location, I’ll give you direction or encouragement when you need it, but hopefully by the end of it, you’ll be chiming in with awesome ideas of your own and we’ll have the best time ever.

I am so glad you asked! So if I’m doing my job right, you shouldn’t ever feel like you have no idea what’s going on. But if you ever DO feel that way, please shoot me an email or text. Your questions are valid!
To get you thinking about the photoshoot of your dreams, I created this series of blog posts to highlight some things I think about when planning a session. Head here and get your creative juices flowing!

I say this as a photographer AND a mama :: it’s going to happen, so we’ll go with it. It’s so overwhelming for adults to get in front of a camera, imagine how weird it is for a kid. But generally with some giggles or compliments and gentle encouragement, kids come around.
But honestly, the most important thing is for everyone to be themselves, so if a kid just isn’t feeling it, that’s ok. Some of my favorite photos I’ve taken are of kids who didn’t want to do it. Because they’re real and beautiful.
I promise, no stress. It’s all good.
