So when working through locations for this shoot, this couple sent me a short list of places that held a lot of meaning for them. The Houston Zoo, Terry Hershey Park, and the Museum of Natural Science to name a few. And when we worked through the options, we kept coming back to the zoo. They got engaged at the zoo after a chaotic day where Murphy’s Law seemed in full effect, but it held such a joyful memory for them that we had to go for it!
I loved so much that we went right before closing time, when the people are scarce and the animals are taking their afternoon snooze. We got to see many of the animals up close, as if they knew their time on the clock was just about over. The Houston Zoo does such a great job of keeping natural habitats in great shape and the greenery was absolutely beautiful as we meandered down the walkways.
When you’re thinking through locations for your engagement photos, my suggestion is always to start with thinking through places that are meaningful to you. Because the more connected you are to a place, the more comfortable and emotional you will feel when you get there and begin to reflect on this incredible season in your life!
